May Day! The Carlsbad Village Street Fair 🎡
The world famous Carlsbad Village Street Fair is back on May 7th, 2023. The usual start time is 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.. Parking for this event is very limited. You may want to use a ride share service (like Uber and Lyft) to get yourself to and from the village. In addition the city has partnered with NCTD (North County Transit District) which is the public transportation system here, to help keep traffic and congestion in the area low. They are running a 2 for 1 fare promotion as well as direct shuttle service from Westfield Plaza Camino Real shopping center and the Poinsettia Train Station. So, you can park your car at either location and then get shuttled in and out of the village area. They are also adding extra round trips to the schedule for the day.
The Carlsbad Village Street Fair first began in 1975 and since then the event brings more than 100,000 visitors yearly to the village of Carlsbad. That makes it the biggest one day fair in the nation, perhaps the world.🤔
The street fair takes place twice a year in May and November. There are over 750 vendors that bring their wares to the fair. You can find everything from beautiful handcrafted jewelry to personal keepsakes and one of a kind souvenirs. Not to mention the vast array of mouth watering foods and drinks you can get there. If that’s not what you are after then you’ll find many restaurants in the village with great specials for the event.
Come for the great family entertainment with many games and rides that challenge the mind and body. This is really a great time of year to visit Carlsbad. The weather is great and it starts the beginning of the busy season but not quite. The summer is when everyone gets here but May is wonderful because of the weather and the beaches aren’t as crowded as they would be in June.
